Jesus' Idea of Repentance

I stole this from someone's comment to a post on Facebook. And I'm not going to repent for it. :)

Here's Jesus' idea of repentance:

"And when the shepherd finds his lost sheep, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no Repentance." (Luke 15:5-7)

Jesus used this parable to describe HIS definition of Repentance:

The shepherd represents Jesus, and the lost sheep represents a sinner who is lost and comes to Repentance.

So, how did the sheep repent? ...It didn't confess it's sins to the shepherd? ...It didn't cry out with sorrow... It didn't rend it's wool garments in two.... NO... All it did was REST on the shepherds shoulders and allow HIM to save it.... True New Covenant repentance is simply RESTING on the shoulders of the Jesus and letting HIM carry you back home.... Now that's Jesus' definition of Repentance!
