On a regular basis, I receive feedback from my mentors about things I've submitted to them for review. It's always eye-opening to hear what they found inspiring, funny, or poignant. Often, they are things that I found insignificant.
This is such a reflection of life in general: things that are ingrained in us, that we take for granted, whether they're memories, ideas, or a way of thinking... are so natural to us, we don't realize the impact they might have on others.
That's why relationships are so important... being open, honest, and real with others can give us insight into ourselves, and open us up to realities that we hadn't taken notice of before.
Emily Barrett Browning wrote "Earth's crammed with Heaven," and I think it's true of our lives... there's so much good stuff crammed into our lives! But we're often so busy focusing on "what we need to do" or "what we messed up," that we don't realize all the nuggets of goodness... ripe and full of nutrition for ourselves and others.
I'm so glad that God's master plan for us is all about "relationships." Without them, we are lost in a fog created by bouncing our thoughts off the walls of our own minds instead of sharing the nuggets of life with others, and seeing those nuggets miraculously turn into gold.
