It's been a fairly busy time for me, with "gigs" here, there, and everywhere. (okay, not really everywhere).
Last night I joined some other Cursillistas for a meeting. And there's never a Cursillo-focused meeting without music (and food!). So we did a few songs. Those folks just need to learn when to clap-clap-clap during "Shine Jesus Shine"... and they'll be fine. Ha!
Tonight I'll be singing for the men at Union Gospel Mission. I've come up with a variety of songs to fill a 30-minute slot. They're always a great audience. They sure do seem to appreciate the gift of music. I'm going to try to keep everything UPBEAT tonight. There's nothing like seeing these guys clap, slap their knees, and bob their heads to the rhythm.
Sunday I'll be singing three songs at St. Luke's. I don't think I've ever done music in the big church for a regular service there before. For such down-to-earth folks, their service is very formal. So we'll see what happens when I start that upbeat Israeli-sounding song after communion. Will the frozen-chosen be moving to the beat?
